Hello and welcome to the 3-week Introduction to Stretching & Flexibility Programme. 


My name is Paul Summers. 4th dan and owner of Seven Star Martial Arts & Fitness. I have a lifetime of varied sports activities, as well as teaching and coaching. However mainly in martial arts.


I've produced this brand new 3 week stretching and flexibility program from online videos i did for my members during the covid 19 lockdown.




Whilst it's quite varied, it concentrates on lower back and hip mobility.
It's ideal for maintenance, rehab, or just improvement, and obviously aimed at martial artists.




I broke my back (L1 compression fracture) in 1999. It unfortunately went undiagnosed for a long time, and i continue to suffer with a variety of associated issues, as well as daily back pain. Most recently, a herniated disc  November '19, almost requiring surgery, but for the hospital losing my notes.


Since stretching 5 days a week, my mobility has increased massively, with my 'splits' improving from 21cms to almost 0. Something I never thought I'd achieve.

 
More importantly pain levels have decreased enormously. I have to keep reminding myself that i was fully expecting to go in for back surgery. 


Due to delays and obviously the outbreak of covid 19, that didn't happen. I'm no longer taking high strength prescription painkillers and muscle relaxants, and am quietly hopeful i can continue to progress and regain a decent level of fitness.
